LVN / LPN Travel/Contract Job in Roanoke, Virginia

Position Overview

• Role: LPN for Outpatient Cardiology Clinic
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• No weekend shifts required
• Floating: Required within skillset
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics, including patients newly diagnosed with cardiac disease, post cardiac procedures, and on cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist care

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Cardiology outpatient experience including basic cardiology skills
• Core Clinical Skills: Typical office nurse duties such as rooming patients, calling in prescriptions, calling back patients, and completing patient forms
• EPIC charting experience required
• Accepts first-time travelers depending on candidate’s experience
• Locals not accepted
• Pending license accepted only if holding a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise, active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - preferred, AHA only

Licensure

• Must have an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license or a pending license under specified conditions
• NURSYS verification required as applicable (must be run within 30 days of start)
• Primary source verification of state license required within 30 days of start

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start (not required annually unless there is a 30+ day break in assignments)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals/extensions
• Education verification of highest earned degree required
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for students)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or mask and declination form during flu season

Additional Requirements

• I9 or attestation required
• Valid Driver’s License/State ID required within 48 hours of signing (must be within 100 miles of facility)
• Residency declaration form required if working on a compact license
• Photo for badge required (professional picture with plain background)
• Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required prior to start
• References: 2 clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Employment application/resume required
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as applicable

Prior Travel Experience

• Accepts first-time travelers depending on candidate’s experience (no explicit prior travel experience required)
