Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Saint Louis, Missouri
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Patient ratio: 1:4–6
• Start date: 3–4 weeks out, depending on compliance tier
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope may be required
• Block scheduling is not available
• Guaranteed hours included

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Neurosurgery experience

Unit Details

• Medical-surgical neuroscience unit
• Cares for pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients
• Also receives general neurology and stroke patients as secondary placement
• Unit commonly manages intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains
• The unit does not take titratable drips except heparin, trachs/total laryngectomy, EVDs, fresh TPA administration, or arterial lines

• Local candidates are not accepted
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
• On-call is not required
• Navy blue scrubs
• EPIC charting
• Short-term acute care facility
• Magnet, teaching hospital, Level I trauma center
• 1,266 staffed beds
