Job Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Accessing ports
- Arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- PICC line management
- IV start capability
- Assist with chest tube insertion and removal
- High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) administration
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology experience preferred
- Previous travel experience preferred
Clinical Skills / Experience
- Dysrhythmia interpretation
- Port access
- Arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- PICC line management
- IV starts
- Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
- High-flow nasal cannula support
- ABG interpretation
Unit / Patient Population
- Patients commonly include those receiving chemotherapy, symptom management, and management of comorbidities
- Continuous cardiac monitoring is used for chemotherapy-related care
- Strong focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
Equipment
- GE telemetry monitoring system
- Bladder scanner
- Alaris pumps
- Stryker beds
Additional Notes
- Parking is available through multiple permit options, with some options including shuttle access to the medical center
- Annual and pre-start compliance items are required, including background screening, fingerprinting, references, employment application, skills checklist, and health documentation

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
