Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Baltimore, Maryland
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Adults/Geriatrics patient population
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required as scheduled
- Floating required within the specialty to lower-acuity areas as needed
- On-call may be required
- Scrub color: navy blue
Required Qualifications
- Valid Maryland RN license
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
- CPI
- NIHSS
Clinical Setting
- Neuro ICU with critically ill neurological patients
- Common conditions include stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, brain tumors, cerebral edema, hydrocephalus, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, CNS infections, and post-craniotomy care
- Unit uses ICP monitors, EVDs, continuous EEG, mechanical ventilators, arterial line monitoring, central venous catheters, infusion/syringe pumps, bedside ultrasound, telemetry, cooling devices, SCDs, specialty ICU beds, lift equipment, and point-of-care testing equipment
