CVICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Role: CVICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Torrance, California
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• CVICU (2 years of experience)
• CVICU experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with central line management
• Experience with arterial lines
• Experience with swan-ganz catheters
• Experience with CRRT
• Bedside chest tube placement

Preferred

• EPIC experience
• 1.5 years of experience may be considered if the candidate has prior experience at a large facility

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Every other weekend required
• No on-call
• No scheduling requests can be accommodated
• No RTO within the first 2 weeks, and RTO must be 10 days or less
• Must work 3 of 5 holidays
• Floating may be required to Burn, MS ICU, or telemetry

Unit Details

• Unit diagnoses include valves, CABGs, TAVRs, STEMIs, IABP, and a new ECMO program
• Procedures include placing central lines, a-lines, SG catheter, CRRT, and chest tubes
• Special equipment includes Level 1 rapid infuser and Alaris IV pumps
