Location: Columbia, Missouri

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule:
- 50% of holidays and weekends
- Every other weekend
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Float Assignments: ICU and Medical-Surgical units
- Experience Required:
- ICU experience with strong Neuro checklist
- Stroke experience required
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Preferred; required for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs (Blue Card, can be completed onsite)
- NIH Stroke Certification: Preferred but not required for Neuro ICU and Medical Surgical-Neuro
- Other certifications may apply depending on specialty and unit
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background Check:
- 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
- Includes alias/all names search, counties lived/worked/school, national federal, sex offender, social security trace, FACIS III/OFAC
- International background checks required if candidate traveled outside the USA in last 7 years (exceptions for certain military personnel)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG Exclusions: Required within 60 days of start
- State-Specific Searches: Missouri FCSR and EDL searches required within 60 days
- References: 2 professional references within last 2 years required
- Employment Application: Resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days, education details included
Licensure and Verification
- State License: Missouri RN license verification required within 60 days
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 60 days
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, must be initiated within 48 hours of signing
- Fit Mask Test: Valid fit test within 1 year required (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or approved exemption
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required
- Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required (declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)
- Drug Testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Additional Notes
- Stroke experience is mandatory due to Neuro ICU focus
- Float assignments between ICU and Med Surg require flexibility
- CPI certification preferred but can be completed onsite if not obtained prior to start
- Candidate must be prepared for 50% holiday and weekend shifts
- All documentation and verifications must be completed timely to meet facility requirements

I worked in Same Day Surgery. The PACU and OR staff were great to work with. The supervisor/manager was very easy to approach and talk with.
