Job Description

MS/Tele RNs are needed to provide care primarily for adult and geriatric patients. Candidates should be open to floating to the Rehab unit as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience
• Experience in a community hospital setting
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience required
• 1st time travelers accepted
• 2 clinical references (within last year), including at least 1 leadership reference
• Separation period of 6 months from last assignment
• Candidates must be willing to float to Rehab unit as needed

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
• Peritoneal Dialysis skills preferred

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts (1845-0715)
• At least 1 weekend shift every 6 weeks

Orientation

• 1 day of orientation (12 hours), scheduled based on availability
• Candidates must complete compliance items timely; no start date delays will be honored

Patient Ratio

• Typically 1:6, with a maximum of 1:7

Uniform

• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Systems & Tools

• Charting System: EPIC (experience required)
• Medication System: Pyxis

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Certifications

• BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
• Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, TNCC, Tech Cert Verification)

Background Checks & History

• 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
• PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, renewed every 5 years
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• 2 professional references required within 3 years of start
• Education verification required for all clinical assignments
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint or child abuse results are pending at start

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD/DO/NP/PA
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot within 90 days)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption/declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
• Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all required online modules and orientation by the first day of assignment.
• Fingerprinting and Child Abuse Search results can be pending at start but must be finalized within 45 days or the candidate will be removed from the floor.
• Candidates must be proactive in compliance and documentation submission to avoid delays.
