Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
Seeking a Radiation Therapist with a minimum of 3 years of experience. This role requires expertise in radiation therapy with specific experience using Variam Truebeam and ARIA systems. Candidates must be proficient in EPIC charting and able to work with adult patients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience with Variam Truebeam and ARIA systems
- Proficiency with EPIC charting
Orientation & Start Dates
- Start dates available: March 23 or April 6 only
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Candidates must provide and maintain up-to-date documentation including but not limited to:
- I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (if used for I9)
- Background checks (including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, etc.) within 90 days of start
- E-Verify attestation
- Education verification confirming graduation from an accredited Radiologic Sciences program
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Flu vaccine (mandatory, no exemptions)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (one must be a supervisor)
- Employment application with 7 years of work history
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems.
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous Duke assignments may have some documentation requirements waived or accepted on file.
- Pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge will be conducted during orientation.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training provided during orientation for applicable units.
- No weekend shifts required.
This position is ideal for experienced Radiation Therapists with prior travel contract experience who meet the strict certification and documentation requirements.
