Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule options: alternating 3x12s and 4x12s every other week, or straight 4x12s
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call duties
• Float requirement applies
• Holiday shifts required (at least 2 out of 3 holidays)
• Unit includes General Medical-Surgical, COVID, TB, and all negative pressure rooms
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Return to Office (RTO) within 5 days or add time to end of contract
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date)
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 3 months)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination (required Oct 1 – March 31)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Annual competency exams and skills checklist updates required

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Must be able to work holiday shifts and float as needed
• Unit environment includes infectious disease precautions (COVID, TB, negative pressure rooms)

This position is ideal for experienced MS/Telemetry RNs comfortable with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.
