Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, with experience within the last year.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Healthcare Provider required.
• Other certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) not specified as required for this role.

Compliance and Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required (can start pending verification).
• Primary source verification of state license required.
• Two professional references required (Charge RN or above preferred).

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (required for Aya placements).
• Fit mask test required within 6 months of start; facility offers onsite testing if needed.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within years of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy; updated every 2 years if contract extends.
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 6 months of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-April).
• COVID vaccination preferred but not required as of June 2024.
• Respirator clearance or facility-specific respirator clearance form required, updated annually.

Additional Requirements

• Must review and sign facility-specific documents including orientation guide, confidentiality agreement, dress and grooming standards, harassment-free workplace policy, and IT acceptable use policy.
• Candidate must complete facility-specific tests and competency exams as applicable.
