Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Bristol, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Call required: approximately 10-12 call shifts per month
- Rotating weekend call coverage
- Every other Friday and Monday off when not scheduled for weekend call
- Required to float to a nearby facility when needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, with experience within the last year
- Experience in Charge roles
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Orientation & Training
- General orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable training, starting on Sundays (online CBLs)
- Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
- Additional overtime shifts may be flexed based on hospital census without penalty
Professional Responsibilities
- Active participation in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check required for those licensed or working in Tennessee
- Primary source verification of state nursing license and NURSYS verification required
- Photo for badge must meet specific standards and be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
- Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, contaminated sharps/body fluid exposure statement, smoking/tobacco use policy, influenza policy, and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire (time sensitive)
- Respiratory fit testing completed onsite; must comply with CDC facial hair guidelines for respirator use
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug test within 14 days of start (instant test acceptable as placeholder)
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31) with facility-specific documentation and approval
- Immunization and titer requirements:
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) titer or documentation of vaccination/boosters
- Varicella titer or documentation of vaccination/boosters
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination accepted
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test (2 PPDs within last 12 months or equivalent) or chest X-ray if history of positive test
