Pathologists Assistant - Travel/Contract

Location: Newnan, Georgia

Job Overview

• Emphasis on surgical pathology with a critical role in diagnosis, supporting pathologists in oncologic diagnoses.
• Part of an engaged laboratory team.
• Use of cryostat and bone saw.
• 16 hours of orientation provided.
• EPIC documentation system used.
• Scrubs provided.
• First-time travelers are welcome.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathologists' Assistant, with experience within the last year preferred.
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience required.
• Skills including tumor triage and assisting in bone marrow collection.
• Certification and training in BLS, PALS, NRP, NALS, and CHEMO required, with BLS and PALS issued by the American Heart Association.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
• Verification of highest level of education required.
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start and upon expiration.
• Annual skills checklist required.
• Facility-specific confidentiality agreement and other compliance documents must be signed.
• 100% nicotine-free facility.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (must include marijuana).
• Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B positive titer required (vaccine series alone not acceptable)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; history of chickenpox not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season; unvaccinated candidates must wear masks.
• Fit mask testing completed onsite if required.

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience required.
• Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement.
