Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Home Health

Location: Valrico, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description

• Provide therapy services as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a home health setting.
• Patient visits include both private homes and care facilities.
• Average caseload: 5-10 patients per day, approximately 6-8 points daily based on visit types and activities.
• Types of cases: Start of Care and Follow-Ups.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
• Occasional Saturdays may be required.
• Travel: Must be willing to travel 30-75 miles per day, up to 75 miles from home clinic.
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate (patient-to-patient travel compensated; commute to/from first and last patient is not billable).
• Use of EMR systems including HomeCare HomeBase, Outlook, and Teams.
• Guaranteed hours are not provided; if patient census is low, options to float to nearby clinics may be discussed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Florida.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Physical Therapy Assistant experience.
• Experience working with adult patients.
• Experience in a home health setting.
• Current BLS certification.

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted.
• Position may follow a standard 5-day, 8-hour schedule or occasionally a 4x10 schedule (Friday-Monday) depending on territory.
• Productivity expectations: approximately 32 units per week.
• Contract assignment with possibility to extend; no current decision on permanent hire.
