Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

• Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
• Unit: Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Unit Size: 38 beds, average daily census of 33
• Systems Used: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
• Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience with telemetry, within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
