Job Opportunity: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Job Summary

Seeking an LPN for an outpatient cardiology clinic providing care to adult and geriatric patients. The role involves typical office nursing duties such as rooming patients, calling in prescriptions, patient follow-up calls, and completing patient forms. The LPN will work with patients newly diagnosed with cardiac disease, post-cardiac procedures, and those on cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist supervision. Floating within skillset may be required.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN/LVN license in Virginia
• Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Patient Population

• Adults and geriatrics
• Cardiology patients including newly diagnosed, post-procedure, and maintenance therapy

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually if applicable
• Fit test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Two clinical references required
• Background checks including 7-year history and various federal/state screenings
• Completion of required documentation such as I-9, driver's license/state ID, education verification, and compliance forms

• Requests for time off must be approved by the facility at booking
• Facility has a call-off policy allowing 1 shift off per 2 weeks
