Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Day/Evening shifts, 8 hours each
  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Weekend rotation and holidays as needed
  • No on-call required

Job Description

The EEG Tech is a multi-skilled allied health professional performing diagnostic testing procedures such as:

  • Electroencephalograms (EEG)
  • Evoked potentials (EP)
  • Nerve conduction studies (NCS)
  • Long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM)
  • Intensive care unit and continuous EEG monitoring (ICU/EEG)

Work is performed under direct supervision of senior staff and physicians responsible for interpretation. The technologist must analyze data during recordings to ensure validity and interpretability. Knowledge of clinical neurology is essential. Testing may occur in outpatient labs, emergency rooms, operating rooms, ICUs, special monitoring units, or at the patient's bedside.

Travelers may float to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an EEG Technologist
  • EEG Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Facility Requirements

  • Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
  • Floating to other departments or locations may be required based on staffing needs

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript as applicable
  • State-specific caregiver screening and BID form for Wisconsin
  • Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • TB testing and questionnaire
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
    • Varicella vaccination or exemption
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
    • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
    • Other vaccines or declinations as required by department (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)

Additional Requirements

  • Passing facility-specific telemetry exams if applicable
  • Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing as required
  • References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
  • Employment application and annual skills checklist
