Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (typically 0700-1530; on-call hours 0800-1630)
- Call Requirements: 1 day per week, plus weekend call every 3rd or 4th weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Weekend Requirement: On-call only
- Holiday Requirement: As needed
- Floating: None
- Daily Caseload: 10-15 cases per tech
Required Experience & Skills
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Interventional Radiology
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Local candidates: Not accepted; must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
- License: Must have an active state license by start date (pending licenses accepted if active by start)
- Specialty Skills:
- Ability to scrub cases
- Familiarity with wires
- Experience with GE and Siemens Fluoro rooms
- Vascular IR experience including endografts, neurovascular, trauma, and body IR
- Neurovascular IR experience required (stroke thrombectomy facility)
Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (refer to unit-specific job descriptions)
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check covering the last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (T-Spots not accepted)
- Required immunizations or titers:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to assignment start
- COVID vaccine exemption process available for medical or religious reasons
Additional Information
- Candidates must be able to complete required facility-specific modules prior to start (approximately 8-10 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
- Employment application required for all candidates
- No floating assignments
This position is ideal for Interventional Radiology Technologists with vascular and neurovascular IR experience looking for a travel contract in Indiana with a well-defined schedule and call requirements.
