Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER) – Travel/Contract – Winfield, Kansas

Position Details

• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), typically 3 nights in a row
• Schedule: Set rotation with every other weekend off (some exceptions possible, with advance notice)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Background check: 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender registry, and facility-level 3 checks
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal
• Education verification and copy of transcripts or diploma for highest completed education
• State-specific exclusion list check (Kansas Medicaid exclusion)
• NURSYS verification (required for all RNs)
• Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Performance evaluation from last employer if worked there for at least 1 year
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
• Internal evaluations preferred if worked with the agency for over 1 year

Health and Safety Requirements

• Initial physical exam and annual updates attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start, updated annually; if past positive, clear chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Annual flu vaccination documentation or approved declination (medical or religious)
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 1 year of start and updated annually

Competency and Orientation

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exam required
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training (signed attestation or CORE testing acceptable)
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding education prior to start (all questions must be answered)
