Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM), 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Schedule: Alternating weekends, possible holidays


Job Description

  • Perform radiologic procedures in radiology and cardiology specialties.
  • Work primarily night shift with alternating weekends and potential holiday coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Experience

  • Specialty experience in Radiology / Cardiology (years not explicitly stated; assume minimum required by licensure and certification).
  • No explicit prior travel experience required.

Background and Credentialing Requirements

  • Criminal background check covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years, including aliases.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start, including vital signs, review of systems, medical history, and clearance to work without restrictions.
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year prior to start; must be completed before assignment start (no PAPRs accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per specified options within required timeframes.
  • Annual TB questionnaire completion.
  • Immunizations/vaccine records required:

    • Rubella – 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer; boosters if low titer.
    • Varicella – positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer.
    • Hepatitis B – antibody and antigen titers or vaccine series with declination form within 6 months of start.
    • Hepatitis C titer within 6 months; treatment documentation if positive.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Sept 3 – May 31); exemptions require facility approval.
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen with chain of custody within 60 days prior to start (no marijuana testing).
  • Vision screening (Snellen) within 12 months of start; corrective lenses noted if needed.
  • Color blindness testing if failed online exam twice (Ishihara plates with MD signature).

Training and Competency Exams

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Competency exams as applicable to specialty.
