Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Float
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:45 - 7:15)
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float to all Medical-Surgical-Intermediate (MSI) units including Emergency Department inpatient holds.
- Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed.
- Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination).
- No block scheduling accommodations.
- Local candidates accepted.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- Return to work restrictions: No more than 7 days.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must be updated annually unless otherwise specified)
