Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Float required (ability to work in multiple units as needed)
• Every other weekend shift required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Scrub colors allowed: Navy blue or White

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year

Certifications & Competencies

• Annual renewal of NIH Stroke Certification required
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units (online training accepted)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Competency Exam as applicable

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific searches within 1 year of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or third-party verifications accepted)
• PA Child Abuse Search (Childline) within 1 year of start
• PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in Pennsylvania)
• 2 professional references within the last 3 years
• Annual skills checklist required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or T-Spot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Required vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required for this location)

Additional Information

• Photo for badge (passport style, no filters) required
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start
• Facility requires annual certification for crisis management-related trainings

This position offers a travel nursing opportunity in a medical/surgical telemetry setting with a 13-week contract length. Candidates must meet all licensure, certification, background, and health requirements prior to start.
