Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm), some weekends
Primary Work Area: Decontamination & assembly

Job Description

This is a Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) position focused on decontamination and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Sterile Processing Technician with at least 1 year of experience.
• Sterile Processing Technician experience within the last year.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC accepted. (BLS preferred but not required for Sterile Processing Techs)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and other certifications are generally not required for this role but may be applicable for other units.

Additional Requirements

• Completion and acknowledgment of facility-specific policies and documents prior to start, including but not limited to:

  • Standards of Appearance, Dress Code Policy, Social Media Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, Compliance Acknowledgement, and Masking Requirements.
• Completion of facility-specific forms such as workplace wellness consent, patient care disclosure, and policy procedure acknowledgments.
• Candidates must comply with fingerprinting and CPS checks if applicable (behavioral health candidates).
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
• Medication and competency exams as applicable.

Experience

• No explicit years of experience required stated.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for a Sterile Processing Tech working primarily on the 2nd shift with some weekend hours. The role focuses on decontamination and assembly in surgical services.
