Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
• Schedule: Every other weekend plus additional shifts as needed during the week
• Start Date: April 20
• Work Setting: General Emergency Department (combined adult and pediatric)
• On Call: No
• Float Requirement: No
• Local candidates: Accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Additional Requirements

• Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusions lists
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within one year of start
  • Fit mask test (specific mask types required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
• References: Two professional references required
• Photo for Badge: Color photo required before start date
• Fingerprinting: Must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start (not required if holding active IL license)

Notes

• Candidates should ideally have no more than 5 days of return-to-office restrictions.
• Guaranteed hours may be adjusted with some allowable call-offs during the assignment.
• This position is not suitable for candidates without prior travel nursing experience.

This role is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who are comfortable working nights and weekends in a combined adult/pediatric ED setting and who have prior travel contract experience.
