Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Assignment Length: 17 weeks (travel/contract)
Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (06:40 - 19:10), Monday - Friday with variation
Call Requirement: Weekday and weekend call required


Job Description

  • Work in Surgical Services with focus on Tier 5 GYN/GU/Transplant cases
  • Procedures include kidney transplant, DaVinci Xi robot-assisted surgeries, hysterectomy, urological and GYN robotic surgeries, nephrectomy, HOLEP, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, laparoscopic gynecology, anterior/posterior repair, abdominal hysterectomy, and procurements
  • Exposure to advanced surgical technology and complex cases

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Certifications & Compliance

  • National certification preferred but not required
  • Must complete facility-specific orientation and safety acknowledgments
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry testing may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Education verification required if surgical technologist program completed
  • Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and caregiver screening per Wisconsin state requirements
  • Drug screening required to meet standard clinical candidate requirements

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
  • Up-to-date immunizations or documented immunity for:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Varicella (Chickenpox)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof required
  • Meningococcal vaccine or declination required if working in Microbiology

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Wisconsin BID Form and Caregiver Screening required prior to start
  • Employment application and skills checklist required annually
  • Two clinical references within the last 3 years (Aya standard)
  • Passport-style photo for badge issuance (no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be prepared for weekday and weekend call duties
  • Assignment start dates available in June 2026 (6/15, 6/22, 6/29)
  • Strict compliance with facility and state-specific credentialing and background check policies is mandatory

This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced surgical robotics and complex transplant cases in a reputable Wisconsin healthcare setting on a travel contract basis.
