Job Description

• Work in a Cath Lab setting with an average caseload of 5 cases per day across 2 rooms.
• Procedures include Left/Right heart catheterization, Pacemaker/ICD implantation, Loop recorder implants, Peripheral vascular interventions, and STEMI interventions.
• Call required 12 days per month with a 30-minute response time.
• Weekend work required, typically 1 weekend per month.
• No floating outside scope of practice.
• Local candidates within 70 miles radius are not accepted.
• Pending Illinois license accepted.
• One RTO (request time off) allowed per contract.
• Scrubs provided.
• Charting system: EPIC.
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and ARRT.
• Experience working with EPIC charting system.
• Illinois state license required (can be pending).

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county residence/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start.
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if PPD positive.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination).
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season.
• Preferred COVID vaccination series.
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing (fit test completed onsite during orientation).
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training, including Cath Lab AbioMed Impella Online Training (annual update required).
• Photo for badge with plain white or off-white background.
• Signed confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct.
• Skills checklist and references required.

• Guaranteed minimum hours vary by confirmed shift pattern (e.g., 40 hours/week for 5x8 or 4x10 shifts).
• Call-off hours may be unpaid up to specified limits depending on shift length.
• Fit testing must be completed onsite during the first week of orientation; failure to submit fit test results within two weeks may result in removal from assignment.
• Candidates must complete all required modules before or during orientation; returning candidates with less than 6 months gap may not need to redo modules if transcript is on file.
