Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Travel Assignment

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Oncology Floor (Medical Surgical)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts preferred (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7 (experience with higher ratios required)
• Scheduling: Every Other Week (EOW) schedule; block scheduling considered
• Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
• EMR Systems: Cerner & Soarian
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• IV Start skills

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID, color copy)
• I9 verification
• E-Verify documentation
• 7-year criminal background check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted)
• NURSYS primary source verification for RN license
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency
• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted)
• Immunizations or titers for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination forms as applicable)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Sept 3 - Mar 31) unless approved medical/religious exemption
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA & Joint Commission training acknowledgment
• Facility-specific HealthStream modules must be completed prior to start date
• Photo for badge: passport-style, shoulders up, plain background, no selfies, jpeg format

References & Evaluations

• Two recent supervisor/manager level references verified within 12 months
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility over 1 year
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations updated annually as applicable

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 30 miles of facility will not be considered; local defined as 31-50 miles
• Fingerprinting requirements apply only to CNAs, not RNs
• Fit testing provided onsite at no cost
• Tdap vaccine required only for Labor & Delivery and Mother & Baby units (not applicable here)

This assignment offers a structured oncology MedSurg experience with a focus on telemetry and IV skills, suitable for RNs with recent MedSurg experience and a preference for those with oncology and travel experience.
