Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Work on a telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients.
- Patient diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues.
- Unit census: 36 rooms, average daily census of 35.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5.
- Electronic medical record system: Epic.
- Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR.
- Scrub color: Navy blue.
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
- No call requirements.
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
- Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday occurs during assignment, expected to work it; if 2 holidays, work both; if 3 holidays, work 2 of them.
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
- Return to orientation (RTO) maximum 7 days; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4-12).
- Compliance with all onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays may push start date by 2 weeks.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
Additional Information
- Locals accepted at the same rate.
- Floating within the facility as needed.
- No call requirements.
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length.
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine fit before final manager approval.
