Registered Nurse – PCU/Telemetry Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dededo, Guam
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Shift: Primarily one shift (day or night), 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (48 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, flexible to support facility needs
Holidays: Working holidays required; specific dates determined by unit needs (no holiday shift requests allowed)
Overtime: Not guaranteed; at management discretion
Floating: Must be willing to float within scope to Med-Surg and ED Tele overflow; no ICU patient care outside scope

Job Description

• Care level: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with Telemetry monitoring; unit functions as a tele unit but care level is PCU (and ICU when needed)
• Patient types include routine, uncomplicated cardiac procedures, non-cardiac thoracic surgery (first 48-72 hours unless complications), and nonurgent percutaneous coronary interventions with complications
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
• Travelers should be prepared to pick up additional shifts based on census

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
