Operating Room Nurse
Location
- Chicago, Illinois
Job Type
- Travel/Contract
- 13 weeks
- Day shift, 4x10 hours
- 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Role Overview
- Neurosurgery-focused operating room nursing assignment
- Cases include stereotactic neurosurgical, neuro spine, and craniotomy with tumor resection
- Call is included: one 8-hour on-call shift per week as needed
- May rotate to weekends
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- Scrub experience
- Neurosurgery experience
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- State license verification
- 2 professional references, including 1 from a direct supervisor
- Unit-specific skills checklist
- Employment application
- Background check
- Color blind testing
- Physical exam
- Negative TB screening
- Drug screen
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Tdap
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or documentation
- Online training modules before orientation
- Signed fingernail policy
- Compliance checklists
Preferred Experience
- Level 1 trauma experience
- More than 1 year of Epic experience allows start without instructor-led class
