Job Opportunity: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type
- Travel / Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:00 to 6:30)
- Every 4th weekend rotation (Friday through Sunday)
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- License: Must hold a valid state license appropriate for Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech
- Certifications (as applicable to the role):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
- Competency exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (specialty-specific)
- Unit Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
Background and Screening Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually; must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable)
- State-specific registry search (Nebraska DHHS Adult & Child Services Registry) within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification (for license verification) within 30 days of start
- National tech certification verification within 30 days of start
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months prior to start, by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN (chiropractor not accepted); must be updated annually
- Fit mask test completed within 12 months prior to start (specific mask types required)
- Tdap vaccine required
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 12 months prior to start; annual updates required
- For positive TB results: TB questionnaire within 6 weeks prior to start and chest X-ray within 12 months prior to start
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters if titers are low or equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or proof of vaccine series required; no declinations allowed except approved medical or religious exemptions
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of disease required; boosters if titers are low or equivocal
- Seasonal flu vaccine required for all new starts beginning 10/1/2025, or approved exemption on file by 11/30/2025; exemptions must be updated yearly
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 12 months prior to start; instant tests accepted; must be current for assignment duration

- Two professional references within 2 years of start date
- Annual update of skills checklist
- Employment application and verification process as per facility standards
