Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)
Location: San Francisco, California
Shift: Day shift, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Work primarily in an outpatient Endoscopy Center with pre/post procedure and inpatient experience required.
- Ability to float to other facilities within the system.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working in an outpatient setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma I/II experience is preferred but not required.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent or second most recent employer.
- Current and updated resume covering the last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained.
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.
- Verification of 7 years of work history matching the resume (not required for non-clinical).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification or diploma/transcript, sex offender search, and licensure verification.
- Drug testing: Standard 9-panel (excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years.
- Pass/fail Telemetry exam and medication/pharmacology competency exams with minimum passing scores (80% or higher).
- Completion of core competency exams (Core Part I, II, III) with passing scores (80% or higher) within a year prior to start and updated annually.
- Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication on first day of orientation (two attempts allowed, third requires manager approval).
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), NIH Stroke Certification, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required depending on unit assignment.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB testing: Two negative TB tests required (one within 1 year, one within 3 months of start). Positive TB candidates must provide chest X-ray and TB questionnaire.
- Annual TB questionnaire required within 30 days of start.
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (history of disease not accepted)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination with physician note)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within last 10 years (no declinations accepted except medical exemptions).
- Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-April).
- COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required as of current policy.
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start with approved mask types; onsite fit testing available as last resort.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules prior to or on first day of orientation.
- Completion of Cyber Security Awareness Training and HIPAA Healthcare Provider Module with passing scores (80% or higher).
- Emergency contact information must be provided.
- Compliance with facility COVID-19 preparedness and screening questionnaires prior to start.
- Valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license required (driver’s license, state ID, or US passport).
Important Notes
- Candidates must have completed references at time of submission.
- Candidates must be prepared for pass/fail exams on medication and telemetry on orientation day.
- Ability to float to other facilities within the system is required.
- All certifications must be current and from approved organizations (e.g., AHA for BLS/ACLS).
- Physical exam and fit mask testing must be completed timely to meet start date requirements.
