Ultrasound Technologist (Temp) – General (Days)

Location: Windsor, Vermont
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform general ultrasound exams including abdomens, aorta screenings, thyroids, breasts, venous studies (carotids, upper and lower venous for DVT), prostates, lymph nodes.
  • No OB exams beyond the 1st trimester; no musculoskeletal (MSK) exams; no pediatric or neonatal exams.
  • Assist providers with ultrasound procedures.
  • Provide general ultrasound, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound services Monday through Friday with varying hours.
  • Must function independently and proficiently.
  • Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies regularly.
  • Must have working knowledge of clinical emergency equipment such as oxygen tanks and suction apparatus.
  • Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
  • Dress code: Personal scrubs of any color.
  • Facility is a Critical Access Hospital with trauma level designation.
  • Orientation: 8 hours non-billable.
  • Strict attendance policy: after 3 call-offs, contract may be terminated; call-offs must be communicated at least 1.5 hours in advance.
  • Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at time of application; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of current ultrasound experience.
  • Active American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification (any of AB, BR, OB/GYN, RVT).
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must have own vehicle for transportation.
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (permanent address required at profile submission).
  • Skills checklist for Ultrasound Technologist current to within 1 year.
  • One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 months previous travel ultrasound experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR system.

  • Facility is a 35-bed critical access community hospital with 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
  • Offers acute care, transitional care, hospice, physical therapy, and therapeutic pool services.
  • Location offers access to outdoor recreation and is within a 3-hour drive to major cities like Boston, Montreal, and New York.
