Radiation Therapist - Oncology (Days)

Job Summary

Under administrative direction and clinical supervision, assist in the treatment and care of cancer patients by administering prescribed radiation treatments. Must be able to work independently and perform duties including patient preparation, equipment calibration, radiation safety, documentation, and assisting Radiation Oncologists with exams and simulations.

Essential Functions

• Administer prescribed radiation treatments and monitor patients and control panels during treatment.
• Prepare patients, exam rooms, and equipment for treatments and simulations.
• Assist Radiation Oncologist with medical examinations and simulations.
• May inject dye or administer contrast media during simulations if properly trained.
• Perform equipment calibration as prescribed by Radiation Safety Officer and regulatory bodies.
• Observe radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
• Record patient doses, document patient history, reactions, and unusual conditions.
• Complete scheduling, consultation, billing, and other required paperwork accurately.

Required Qualifications

• Current New Hampshire MIRT license in-hand or willingness to complete temporary license process (including fingerprinting).
• Minimum 2 years of current Radiation Therapy experience.
• Oncology experience required.
• Experience with VARIAN TRUEBEAM required.
• Experience with ARIA (Treatment Record and Management) required.
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment.
• Prior travel experience highly preferred.

Compliance

• All medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed and documented within 5 days of offer acceptance.
• Proof of compliance must be uploaded as required.

• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
