Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 24 months of operating room experience in a hospital or medical center setting (required)
  • Experience and proficiency in ortho/orthopedics, neuro/neurology, general surgery, GYN/gynecology, urology, breast, plastics (required)
  • Experience and proficiency in operating DaVinci robotics in the above cases (required)
  • Scrub experience (preferred)
  • EPIC charting experience (preferred, training available)

• Travel Experience:

  • Must have at least 3 months of current travel experience within the previous 18 months (prior travel experience required)
  • No first-time travelers accepted

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission (required)
  • ACLS (AHA) certification (required)
  • BLS (AHA) certification (required)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Verification of primary license completed within 30 days prior to start
• Physical/Health examination completed within 1 year of start, updated every 4 years
• Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B (proof or exemption required)
• TB Testing and TB Questionnaire completed as per facility requirements
• Annual Influenza vaccine or approved exemption during flu season
• Mask fit test prior to start, updated annually
• Tdap vaccination within past 10 years or approved exemption
• Criminal background check within 1 year of start
• OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities Search within 30 days prior to start, updated every 30 days
• SAM/EPLS Search within 30 days prior to start, updated every 30 days
• Professional disciplinary action search within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification prior to start
• Employee references check prior to first assignment (2 references or 2 years employment verification)
• I-9 documentation prior to start
• Current/active driver's license or government-issued ID prior to start
• Traveler photo/headshot prior to start
• Iowa Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Registry Search
• Iowa Mandatory Reporting Training (Adult and Child abuse courses)
• Contractor Emergency Contact Form prior to start

Additional Information

• Must provide a skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse/RN discipline
• Driver’s license required
• Professional references preferred within 24 months
• Radius rule: minimum 50 miles, no locals

This position requires a highly experienced OR nurse with specific surgical and robotic skills, current travel experience, and full compliance with state and facility credentialing and immunization requirements.
