Overview
- Temp assignment in Des Moines, Iowa
- Nights shift
- 13-week contract
- Pediatric patient population with Peds Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all Pediatric specialties
- Unit details: 14 beds; ratios 1:2-4
- May float to NICU, B3 gen floor, PICU, and ED for inpatient holds
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Pediatrics experience
- Pediatric Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Pediatric Med Surg experience within the last year
- Hematology / Oncology experience
- Experience with Epic
- One completed travel assignment
- Driver's License
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- APHON
Preferred
- Professional reference/reference check from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within the previous 24 months
Additional Details
- No locals; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
- Past employees of the health system’s float pool cannot work travel in another market within 12 months
- Unless the unit is closed, contractor must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
- Orientation dates: 11/23, 12/7, 12/21
- NBO: 16 hours
- Billable OT applies after 40 hours per week, and after 48 hours per week for the 48-hour schedule
- On call: $9/hr
- Call back: 1.5x multiplier with 2-hour minimum
- Charge/Precept: $6/hr
- OT/Holiday: 1.15x multiplier
