Travel RN Medical/Surgical Job - Manhattan, Kansas

Position Details

• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years hospital RN experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse License or Compact Multistate RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be AHA)

Key Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding and competency training, including:

  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required)
  • Ascension Color Vision test
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
• Health and immunization requirements:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection (annual update required)
• Drug Screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Background Checks and Verifications:

  • Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender
  • Employment and education verifications
  • Professional references (at least two)
• Other documentation:

  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and annually thereafter
  • Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and valid)
  • Ascension Profile and Confirmation of Assignment documentation

Additional Notes

• All required documents and verifications must be current and completed prior to or at onboarding.
• Some trainings and certifications require annual updates or re-testing if there is a break in service longer than 90 days.
• No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this assignment.
