Job Opportunity: PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

• Position in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry
• Interview required prior to placement
• Must have 2+ years of recent PCU/Telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system and Phlebotomy within the last 12 months is required (please list on resume)
• No return-to-office (RTO) allowed during the first two weeks of assignment; maximum 7 days RTO allowed during entire contract
• No block-scheduling requests accepted
• Accredited nursing degree required (ACEN or CCNE accredited)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Ohio (primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start)
• BLS (American Heart Association only; AHA RQI acceptable)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only; AHA RQI acceptable)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (must be completed through approved providers)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit nursing experience
• Telemetry PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Telemetry experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Immunizations & Health Screenings

• COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses if applicable; medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
• MMR: Titer or 2 adult MMR vaccines; negative titer requires boosters (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Titer or proof of complete 3-series vaccination; negative titer requires boosters (signed declinations accepted)
• Influenza vaccine (required October–April; medical or religious exemptions require agency approval)
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; negative titer requires boosters (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap within 10 years (optional but recommended)
• Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted
• Annual TB questionnaire (must be completed, signed, and dated)
• If positive PPD, negative chest X-ray within 1 year of start required

Additional Requirements

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, cocaine, THC, opiates, PCP, benzodiazepines, methadone, MDMA, oxycodone, and others)
• Criminal background check compliant with FCRA standards, including 7-year search and nationwide checks (must be run within 90 days of start)
• OIG and EPLS federal exclusion checks within 90 days of start
• Education verification through third-party service
• Valid Social Security card or number required
• Valid government-issued photo ID required
• Fit test for N95 respirators within 1 year of start (specific approved models)
• Pre-employment physical within 1 year of start, including assessment of ability to perform essential job functions
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (including EKG and Telemetry exams) with passing scores required annually
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, and OSHA topics within 90 days of start and updated annually
• RN submission packet checklist must be completed and included with application
