On-Call: Yes, rotating call 1-2 days per week and 1 weekend per month

Job Description

• Prefer Registered Nurse with circulating experience in surgery.
• Scrubbing experience is a bonus.
• Surgical specialties include Orthopedics (total knees, hips, shoulders, ankles), Podiatry, Gynecology, and General/Laparoscopic procedures.
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in these areas.

Required Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience.
• OR experience within the last year is required.
• Minimum 3 years of RN surgical nursing experience.
• Experience in Orthopedics.

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Up-to-date resume reflecting recent work history.
• Two professional references required (one from a manager or direct supervisor).
• Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start.
• Annual fit test for respirator mask.
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • COVID-19 vaccine series plus booster or declination.
  • MMR (proof of immunity).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination.
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal).
  • TB test within one year of start.
  • Varicella immunity.
  • Tdap vaccination.
• National criminal background check within one year of start.
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation).
• Driver’s license, state ID, or passport for identification.

Summary

This is a 13-week long-term assignment for an OR Nurse with at least 2 years of surgical nursing experience, preferably with circulating skills and some scrubbing ability. The role requires day shifts with rotating on-call duties, working with a variety of surgical specialties including ortho and general surgery. Compliance with multiple certifications, immunizations, and competency exams is mandatory for onboarding.
