Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Hollywood, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM

Job Description

• Minimum 2-3 years of current experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with independent bedside management of ventilated patients in a NICU setting.
• Must have current work experience specifically with the Servo U ventilator, including proficiency in its functions and modes used in NICU.
• Knowledge of Drager, Bunnell Jet Vent, Sensormedic 3100A oscillator, and Nitric Oxide is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of NICU experience, including experience within the last year.
• Valid BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Demonstrated experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Proof of immunizations or titers prior to start:

  • 2 MMR vaccinations or IGG titer
  • 2 Varicella vaccinations or IGG titer
  • Hepatitis B Surface Antibody (titer) or declination accepted
• Influenza vaccine required or approved exemption during flu season.
• TB test (QuantiFERON or T-Spot) completed within 12 months prior to start; if previously positive, chest X-ray and updated TB questionnaire required annually.
• Fit test for respiratory protection completed on site (required for direct patient care).
• Physical/Health Statement attesting ability to meet job physical requirements, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA.

Professional and Compliance Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID matching license state if applicable.
• Background check within 30 days prior to assignment start, including 7-year county and national criminal checks, SSN trace, and sex offender registry.
• Employment verification for the previous 7 years.
• Two professional references from manager/supervisor level or above.
• I-9 E-Verify attestation.
• Drug screen (10 panel) completed within 60 days prior to start.
• Highest level of education verified through primary source.
• Recent color badge photo meeting specified criteria.
• Annual or current skills checklist and core competencies with at least 80% pass rate.

Additional Notes

• Resume submission is required and will be reviewed before an offer is extended.
• Various attestations and policy acknowledgments must be completed prior to or during onboarding.

This position requires a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist with NICU ventilator experience and the ability to work independently managing complex ventilated neonatal patients.
