Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Step-down Unit (SDU)

Location: Pontiac, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Step-down Unit (SDU) within the Intermediate Intensive Care Unit.
• Care for critically ill patients ranging from adolescent to geriatric.
• Manage a wide variety of patient diagnoses including medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgical cases.
• Maintain professional nursing standards.
• Supervise CNA/SNA, LPN, or other healthcare workers as assigned.
• Frequent floating to Step-down Unit is expected.

Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience (required).
• Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required.
• Michigan RN license verification is required and must be active at time of submission.
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required.
• References are not required.
• Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Environment

• ICU beds: 10
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2 in ICU, 1:4 in Step-down Unit
• Dress code: Grey scrubs (any shade)
