Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Location: Springfield, Oregon Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks Start date: ASAP (about 4 weeks from offer, for compliance requirements)

Schedule and Assignment

• Shift: 4x10 shift, 09:00 to 19:15 (described as evenings in the posting)
• Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 guaranteed hours per week
• On-call: Yes, 4 eight-hour call shifts per 4-week cycle
• Weekend requirement: TBD
• Block schedule: TBD
• Floating: Does not float within scope to meet facility needs. Does not float to sister facilities.
• Parking: Free

• Facility type: Short-term acute care
• Trauma level: Level II Trauma Center
• Staffed beds: 385
• Cases: 60 to 70 per day
• Robotics: Robotic Center of Excellence, with 3 Xi robots and 2 DV5 robots
• Busiest service lines: Ortho, Neuro, General/Trauma, Vascular, GYN/Uro, and Robotics
• Scrubs: Provided
• Common equipment: Doppler, ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, video systems, lasers, various stapling systems, Hana and Jackson tables

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 3 years of experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network
• Experience working with Vascular patients, including major vascular surgery (AAA)
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Experience working with Ortho Trauma patients
• Experience working with Neuro Trauma patients
• Experience working with Orthopedics patients
• Experience working with GYN patients
• Experience with robotic surgery
• Experience with eye surgery, including vitrectomies, scleral buckles, retina, and cataract procedures
• Experience with craniotomy

Compliance Requirements

• Background check: Completed within 60 days of start, including Social Security verification, and exclusion list checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG) run 15 days before start and every 45 days after
• Drug test: Within 30 days of start
• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start
• TB: Negative IGRA or 2 PPDs within 1 year of start, with an annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations: Documentation of measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, Tdap, and seasonal flu vaccines, or the applicable declination
• Fit test: Required within 1 year of start for onsite candidates, updated annually
• Color blind test: Required
• Orientation: Online orientation quiz, which must be passed with a score of 100%
• Badge photo: Passport-style photo on a white or gray background
