Overview

  • Travel/Contract assignment in Dayton, Ohio
  • 36 or 48 hour shift available
  • Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • 20-week contract

Required Qualifications

  • Valid LPN / LVN license in Ohio
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Ventilator experience
  • Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
  • Step-down/PCU experience with 1:5 patient ratio
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred

  • Level 1 or 2 experience
  • Travel experience

Unit Details

  • Working with Tele, drips, and vents
  • Patient population includes COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, Flu, Sepsis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, and Post Covid
  • Supports trach, vents, bipaps, and high-oxygen requirements
  • Uses insulin drips, heparin, Cardizem, and other sporadic drips
  • No orally intubated patients on the unit
  • Targeted patient ratio is 1:4, with ratios up to 1:5–6
  • Unit may use team nursing or primary nursing depending on unit needs

Floating

  • Traveler will be first to float at discretion
  • May float in and out of specialty clusters
  • If assigned to MVH, may float to main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood)

Scheduling

  • Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday

Other Notes

  • Navy blue scrubs
  • N95 fit testing is required prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered or needed
  • RTO must be requested with initial submittal; no RTO will be added after the offer
