Overview

• Location: Binghamton, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• Shift options: 2x12, 2x8, or 5x8
• Evening hours: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM and 11:00 AM–11:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Active professional nursing license valid in New York
• Psychiatric experience
• Ability to pass medications for up to 25 patients
• Write shift notes, conduct and document nursing assessments, and complete weekly/monthly notes
• 2 references

Required Certifications / Compliance

• BLS
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• Competency exam
• Background check
• Fingerprinting
• Education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months prior to start
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation
• Hepatitis B documentation or declination
• Drug test within 1 year of start
• Flu vaccination or declination
• COVID-19 booster preferred, not required

Work Expectations

• May be assigned to work with patients in a therapeutic milieu
• May serve as charge RN when multiple RNs are scheduled on a unit
• Overtime and shift swaps require approval
• Sleeping is not allowed on the patient unit
• Meal breaks are 30 minutes and cannot be combined with a 15-minute break
