Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Facility: University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers
Hospital System: University of Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • 3 shifts of 12 hours each
  • 2 weekend shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 7 AM - 7 PM
  • 1 weekday shift: 11 AM - 11 PM

Unit Information

  • Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
  • Number of Rooms: 8
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2

Requirements

  • Minimum 1.5 years experience as a CT Technologist (2 years preferred)
  • ARRT CT certification required
  • Experience with GE, PACS, and Siemens equipment
  • Open to first-time travelers and local candidates

Certifications (AHA Only, No Certificates of Completion)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — required only for specific pediatric units, not required for UH PACU
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) — as applicable

Licensure and Verification

  • State License verification (primary source online)
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP (if applicable)
  • Tech Certification verification as applicable (refer to Allied Licensure Report)

Testing and Competency

  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for PACU, Tele, and all ICU units including CVICU
  • A facility-specific EKG Study Guide must be reviewed prior to start

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Fit Mask test within 1 year (N95 or equivalent masks accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if past positive, clear chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required year-round with no exemptions permitted

Background and Compliance

  • 7-year background check within 30 days of start, renewed annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and updated annually
  • Two recent professional references from managers or supervisors (charge nurse references not accepted)
  • Employment application required

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Candidates must review and sign:
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Code of Conduct Attestation
    • Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form
    • Sexual Harassment and Misconduct Policy Attestation
    • Cornerstone Module Attestation (completion of required modules)
  • Candidates must complete and submit orientation paperwork within 3 weeks of start date to avoid removal from assignment
  • Badge and pager return instructions at assignment end to avoid fees
