Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications required at time of submission:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
  • 2 weekend shifts required per contract

Required Documentation & Compliance

Licensure & Verification

  • Primary source online verification of state license
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • Education verification (highest level of education)
  • 7-year work history verification
  • Complete employment application/resume

Background Checks

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
  • HHS/OIG check upon hire
  • Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain locations)
  • Transcript or diploma may be accepted temporarily if education verification is pending

Certifications (As Applicable)

  • ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA)

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
  • Core testing annually for subcontractors

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (if positive TB test)
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Work Schedule

  • Night shifts in the Emergency Room
  • Includes 2 weekend shifts per contract

This position is ideal for RNs with ER experience seeking travel assignments, including those new to travel nursing. Compliance with all licensure, certification, background, and health requirements is mandatory prior to start.
