Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work on Thoracic Surgery Tele floor
• Thoracic surgery experience is a plus but not required
• 36-hour shifts with rotating every other weekend and holiday
• Must have a Pennsylvania nursing license in hand
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Pennsylvania RN License (must have in hand)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• Other certifications as applicable (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific guidelines for past positives)
• Annual TB questionnaire if applicable
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1), with facility accepting declinations

Background & Screening

• Background check within 30 days of start, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and PA statewide check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
• Skills checklist required annually

Additional Notes

• Facility will provide first week’s schedule and direct contact within 48 hours of start date
• Fingerprinting through Pennsylvania Department of Human Services required, with specific instructions for processing and pickup of results
