Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Adult, day shift

  • Two days a week: 07:45 AM – 07:15 PM
  • Two days a week: 02:45 PM – 11:15 PM
  • Total 40 hours per week
• Start Date: As soon as possible (subject to licensing processing time of 6-8 weeks)
• Charting System: Epic experience preferred
• Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center
• Locals: Not accepted (candidate must live more than 100 miles from facility)

Required Qualifications

• License: Nebraska state license preferred to be in hand before start
• Certifications:

  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CRT required; RRT preferred
• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
  • At least 1 year of experience at a large (>500 bed) Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center required
• Additional Requirements:

  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check within 30 days of start (covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
• SAM and OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing monthly
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Education verification
• State-specific registry checks as applicable
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start
• Drug screening within 60 days of start and updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tdap/Tetanus vaccine within last 10 years
  • Annual PPD or equivalent TB testing
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine documentation preferred (mandatory for new contracts starting 10/1 and working candidates by 2/1)
  • COVID vaccine preferred (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Annual skills checklist required
• Two professional references from work within past 2 years

Additional Notes

• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
• NIH Stroke Certification and Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Eye exam required only for travelers working in the OR (not applicable here)
• Parking permits available for professionals (approx. $55/month) or daily parking rates

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity, academic medical center environment with a focus on trauma care. Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous credentialing and compliance process prior to start.
