Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Per Diem)

Job Description
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Critical Care Float position covering multiple adult ICU units: Medical ICU (MICU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), Trauma/Surgical ICU (TSICU), Neurosciences ICU (NSICU)
- Must have experience in all listed ICU areas
- Float to various units with flexibility to float every 4 hours if needed
- Provide continuing care and monitoring of patients off-unit for diagnostics, procedures, or transport
- Patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in all ICU areas listed (MICU, CVICU, TSICU, NSICU)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
Required Certifications
- Additional certifications may be preferred depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM for specific units)
Skills and Competencies
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Care of ventilated patients
- Well-rounded critical care nursing skills across multiple ICU specialties
Orientation and Training
- Four separate orientations required, one for each ICU area floated to
- Completion of up to 15 hours of modules independently before starting, including Epic course and exam
- Must be able to pick up badge during business hours (Mon-Fri, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
- Facility-specific modules and compliance training required prior to start
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day for badge issuance
- Background check within 6 months of start, including education and work history verification
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start
- Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations per facility policy, including:
- Tdap (or signed declination)
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (seasonal)
- TB testing (negative within 12 months) and TB questionnaire
- Immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declinations)
- Respirator fit testing or clearance required (may be completed onsite or prior)
- Completion of facility-specific attestations and policies (e.g., professional appearance, coronavirus protocol)
References and Work History
- Two references from managers or supervisors within the last 24 months required
- Work history must include at least 7 years with city and state for each position
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date
- Modules and competencies must be completed and documented before starting
- Facility requires strict adherence to all credentialing and compliance requirements for clearance and badge issuance
This position is ideal for experienced ICU Registered Nurses with strong critical care skills, flexibility to float across multiple ICU units, and proficiency with Epic.
