Job Description

This position combines X-Ray and CT Tech responsibilities.

• Start Date: ASAP

• Patient Diagnoses:

  • Primarily Emergency Department and Inpatients over the weekend
  • Some outpatient exams during the day
• Common Procedures:

  • Basic X-ray exams: Chest, Abdomen, Extremities
  • CT exams: Routine Head, Chest, Abdomen/Pelvis, CTA of Head/Carotid, PE studies
• Unit Details:

  • Preferred experience in Community Hospital setting
• General Skills Required:

  • Portable X-rays
• X-ray Procedure Experience Required:

  • Extremities
  • Abdomen/GI
  • Spine/Pelvis
  • Head
  • Chest/Thorax
  • Musculoskeletal
  • Lower and Upper Extremities

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New York
• CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification
• ARRT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in Acute Care, Outpatient, and Emergency Department settings
• Adult Acute Care experience
• Adult Outpatient experience
• Emergency Department experience
• X-Ray Technician experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• 7-year criminal background check including all aliases
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification for professional degree
• Online verification of NY State license and ARRT credentials within 30 days of start
• Harassment prevention training (annual)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required
• Color blindness testing
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for all candidates except certain specialties)
• Photo for badge (passport-style, clear background)
• Review of patient confidentiality, sexual harassment prevention, patient experience training, and other facility-specific policies prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (Td not accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (specific panels required)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start

Notes

• Return to Office (RTO) parameters require manager approval.
• Candidate must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract (if booked within 30 days of start).
• Facility is strict about expiring health documents; renewals must be completed prior to expiration during the contract to avoid removal from the floor.

This role is ideal for Radiologic Technologists with combined X-Ray and CT skills looking for a travel contract in an acute care setting with a variety of patient populations and imaging procedures.
