Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Endoscopy RN
- Patient Ratios: 1:3
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment)
- Weekend work: Not required
- May be scheduled to work past 5:30 PM up to 1-2 times per week to cover late cases (typically leaving between 7:00-8:00 PM)
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Block scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local radius rule: No local candidates within 100 miles accepted
- Pending license accepted
- Return to office (RTO) restrictions: Absences longer than 7 days require approval
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy nursing experience within the last year, including admit, sedation, and recovery
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Licensure & Documentation
- Valid Registered Nurse license for New Mexico (original license with 3D seal required onsite)
- Valid non-local driver’s license required (identification cards not accepted)
- Background checks:
- 7-year criminal history within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within one year of start
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (unless completed within past 12 months)
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required
- Social Security card required
- Employment application with at least 3 years of work history
- Work history verification for 3 years required
- Two professional references within 3 years of hire
Required Health & Safety Documents
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (Qgold, Tspot, or PPD with mm reading)
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- COVID vaccination required (religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption form)
- Flu vaccine required year-round with exemptions accepted
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer required (history of disease not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Declination, series, or titer required
- Negative drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific N95 masks required; PAPR accommodation available if needed)
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam (EKG competency) required with minimum passing scores (80% overall, 100% on lethal arrhythmia section)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication knowledge required
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- Cerner training attestation required (testing out option available for experienced candidates)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required for behavioral health units (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)

This position is suitable for first-time travel nurses. Candidates must be prepared for occasional extended shifts and must meet all licensure, certification, and health requirements prior to start.
